Incidal OD - Benefits, dosage and side effects

Incidal-OD is useful for relieving allergy symptoms, such as itching, sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes. This medicine should only be used with a doctor's prescription.

Incidal-OD is available in 60 ml capsules and syrup. Each Incidal-OD capsule contains 10 mg of cetirizine, while each 5 ml of Incidal-OD syrup contains 5 mg of cetirizine.

Precautions Before Taking Incidal-OD

Some things you need to pay attention to before taking Incidal-OD are:

  • Do not take Incidal-OD if you are allergic to cetirizine or hydroxyzine.
  • Do not drive and do activities that require alertness after taking Incidal-OD, because this drug can cause drowsiness.
  • Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages while taking Incidal-OD because it can increase the risk of side effects of this drug.
  • Consult your doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy. Besides being able to decrease milk production in nursing mothers, this drug can cause drowsiness, fussiness, and colic in infants.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of kidney or liver disease.
  • Tell your doctor about any medications, supplements, and herbal remedies you are currently taking.
  • Check with your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, you have drug allergy symptoms, or you have overdosed while taking Incidal-OD.

Dosage and Instructions for Use Incidal-OD

The dose of Incidal-OD depends on the form of the drug and the age of the patient. The following is a general dosage for using Incidal-OD to treat allergies:

Drug form: capsule

  • Adults and children >12 years: 1 capsule daily

Medicine form: syrup

  • Adults and children >6 years: 10 ml (2 measuring spoons), 1 time a day
  • Children aged 2–6 years: 5 ml (1 measuring spoon), 1 time a day
  • Children aged 1–2 years: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon), 1 time a day
  • Infants 6–12 months of age: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon), once daily (not more than 1 week old)

How to Take Incidal-OD Correctly

Take Incidal-OD according to the instructions for use and the dose recommended by the doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose without consulting your doctor first.

Incidal-OD can be taken before or after meals. To be more effective, you should take this drug at the same time every day.

If you are taking Incidal-OD syrup, use the measuring spoon provided in the package. Do not use another spoon because the dosage will be different.

If you forget to take Incidal-OD, do it as soon as you remember if the break with the next schedule is not too close. When it is close, ignore and do not double the dose.

Store Incidal-OD at room temperature. Keep it away from humid conditions and hot air, and do not store it in the refrigerator.

Incidal-OD Interactions with Other Drugs

Until now, it is not known whether there are interactions that may occur when taking Incidal-OD together with other drugs. However, to reduce the risk of unwanted effects, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

Stop taking Incidal-OD and see a doctor immediately if an allergic reaction occurs, an overdose occurs, or a more serious side effect occurs, such as:

  • Decreased frequency of urination
  • Difficult to urinate
  • Visual disturbance
  • Weak
  • Hard to sleep
  • Difficult to swallow
  • Hard to breathe
