Migraine - Symptoms, causes and treatment

Migraine is a headache that feels throbbing, and usually occurs on one side of the head only. Migraine is a neurological disease, which can cause symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light or sound. Migraine attacks with nagging pain can last for hours or days.

Migraines are more common in women than men. According to WHO research results, of the total human population aged 18-65 years who reported having suffered from headaches, about 30 percent of them were migraine sufferers.

In migraine sufferers, attacks of one-sided headache generally appear first at puberty or migraines in children. Migraine attacks will feel more severe when it appears at the age of 35 to 45 years.

Various factors can cause migraines, both genetic and environmental. Treatment for this disease is through a combination of self-care, medication, and lifestyle changes.
