Cerebrovit - Benefits, dosage and side effects

Cerebrovit is useful for improving concentration and brain function, as well as meeting the needs of vitamins and minerals. Cerebrovit is an over-the-counter drug that is available in capsule form.

Cerebrovit contains the main active ingredient in the form of L-glutamic acid which functions as a conductor of signals between nerves. Cerebrovit also contains other active ingredients, namely vitamins B1, B6, and B12, which are useful for increasing metabolism, maintaining a healthy nervous system, and strengthening the immune system.

Cerebrovit Ginkgo

Cerebrovit Ginkgo is a multivitamin that is useful for improving brain function, concentration and memory, helping blood circulation, and meeting the needs of vitamins and minerals. Cerebrovit Ginkgo can be consumed by adults and children over 12 years old.

Cerebrovit Ginkgo contains the following ingredients:

  • Ginkgo biloba 40 mg

Cerebrovit X-Cel is a multivitamin that is useful for improving concentration and memory, increasing metabolism and maintaining endurance. Cerebrovit is intended for children and adolescents aged 12-22 years.

Cerebrovit X-Cel contains the following ingredients:

  • L-glutamic acid 200 mg
  • Folic acid 150 mcg
  • Zinc 15 mg
  • Selenium 50 mcg
  • Vitamin B1 5 mg
  • Vitamin B6 2 mg

 Warning Before Taking Cerebrovit

  • Do not take Cerebrovit if you have a history of allergies to the ingredients contained in this drug and MSG (monosodium glutamate).
  • Do not take Cerebrovit if you have cirrhosis, hepatic encephalopathy, seizure, or a mental disorder, such as mania.
  • Cerebrovit contains ginkgo, do not use anticoagulants, such as warfarin or heparin, while taking this medicine.
  • Do not take Cerebrovit if you have low levels of potassium in your blood (hypokalemia).
  • Tell your doctor if you have a blood clotting disorder, diabetes, and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking vitamin supplements and other herbal remedies.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy.
  • Check with your doctor immediately if you experience an allergic reaction to the drug or an overdose after taking Cerebrovit.

Dosage and Use of Cerebrovit

Cerebrovit is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. The dose of Cerebrovit X-Cel is 1-2 capsules per day. While the dose of Cerebrovit Ginkgo is 1 capsule per day.

How to Take Cerebrovit Correctly

Vitamin and mineral supplements are taken to meet the daily vitamin and mineral needs of the body, especially when the intake of vitamins and minerals from food alone is not enough. Supplements are only used as a complement, not as a substitute for nutrients from food.

Follow the instructions on the package or the doctor's advice when taking Cerebrovit. Use a glass of water to swallow a Cerebrovit capsule. If this multivitamin makes the stomach nauseous, take it while eating.

Store Cerebrovit at room temperature, avoid exposure to sunlight or moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Cerebrovit Interactions with Other Drugs

The content of ginkgo in Cerebrovit Ginkgo can cause interactions when used with other drugs. Drug interactions that can occur include:

  • Increased risk of overzealousness, if used concomitantly with buspirone.
  • Decreased effectiveness of alprazolam and efavirenz.
  • Increased risk of bleeding and bruising, when used with antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs, such as aspirin, clopidogrel, heparin, and warfarin.
  • Increased risk of developing hypomania with fluoxetine.
  • Increased risk of seizures, if used with anesthetic and antiarrhythmic drugs, antibiotics, antidepressants, antihistamines, immunosuppressants and stimulants.

In addition to the interactions due to ginkgo above, L-glutamic acid contained in Cerebrovit can also reduce blood levels of amphetamine, decrease the effectiveness of lactulose and levodopa, and increase the risk of side effects when used with anticonvulsant drugs (anticonvulsants).

Side Effects and Dangers of Cerebrovit

Although rare, the ingredients contained in Cerebrovit can cause some side effects, such as:

  • Headache.
  • Dizzy.
  • Constipation.
  • A burning sensation in the chest (heartburn).
  • Stomach ache.
  • Diarrhea.

Check with your doctor, if you experience the symptoms mentioned above. Stop using Cerebrovit and see a doctor immediately if you have an allergic reaction to the drug or serious side effects, such as:

  • My pulse is weak and I feel like I'm going to faint
  • Bruising, nosebleeds, and abnormal bleeding from the mouth, rectum, or vagina
  • Experiencing symptoms of anemia, such as pale, weak, and tired quickly
  • Seizures
