Entrostop is useful for treating diarrhea. There are two types of Entrostop products that are sold freely in the market, namely Entrostop and Entrostop Herbal Children.
Entrostop contains 650 mg of attapulgite and 50 mg of pectin which work together to absorb toxins and bacteria that cause diarrhea in the intestines, and reduce the amount of fluid excreted. In addition, this drug can also reduce bowel movements so that complaints of abdominal pain due to diarrhea can be reduced.
Unlike Entrostop, Entrostop Anak is an herbal product that contains guava leaf extract, green tea leaves camellias, red ginger, and turmeric extract.
Keep in mind that diarrhea in children is most often caused by rotavirus infection. In rotavirus infection, antidiarrheal drugs are not recommended. Preventing dehydration by meeting fluid intake is the main treatment for diarrhea caused by rotavirus infection.
