How to Use Metronidazole Correctly

Metronidazole in the form of infusion will be given by medical personnel at the hospital on doctor's instructions.

For metronidazole tablets, use as directed by your doctor. Take the drug with the help of food or a glass of water or milk to prevent heartburn.

Use ovules and suppositories as directed by your doctor, and don't forget to wash your hands before using the medicine.

For metronidazole ovules, use the applicator that comes in the box to insert the ovules into the vagina. Clean the ovule applicator after use.

For the suppository form of metronidazole, you can dip the medication in water first, to make it easier to insert into the rectum. Sit still or lie down for 15 minutes after using the medicine.

For those of you who forget to use metronidazole, it is recommended to use it as soon as you remember, if the break with the following schedule is not too close. If it is close, ignore it and do not double the dose.

Take the medicine your doctor has prescribed even if your symptoms subside. Stopping the use of metronidazole outside the schedule that has been set by the doctor can cause the infection to return. Go see your doctor again if your condition doesn't improve or it gets worse after the antibiotics are used up.

Store metronidazole in a place at room temperature, away from heat and humidity to prevent deterioration of the drug. Also, keep metronidazole out of the reach of children.
