Hemorrhoids (Hemorrhoids) - Symptoms, causes and treatment

Hemorrhoids or hemorrhoids are swellings or magnification of blood vessels in the end of the large intestine (rectum), as well asanal or anus. Hemorrhoids is disease that can attack all ages, but generally more often cause complaints in children 50 years old or more.

Hemorrhoids do not always cause complaints, but if complaints arise, the patient may feel uncomfortable and itchy in the anus, and bleeding through the anus appears.

There are two types of hemorrhoids, namely internal and external hemorrhoids. Blood vessels that swell inside the anus and are not visible from the outside are known as internal hemorrhoids. Meanwhile, swelling that occurs outside the anus near the anal canal, feels more painful, and looks from the outside called external hemorrhoids.

Classification Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are classified according to the degree of severity, namely:

  • Grade one - a small swelling that appears inside the anal wall and is not visible outside the anus.
  • Grade two - larger swelling that comes out of the anus during a bowel movement (BAB) and goes back in on its own after a bowel movement.
  • Grade three - the presence of one or more small lumps that hang from the anus, but can be pushed back in.
  • Fourth degree - a large lump that hangs from the anus and cannot be pushed back.

Symptoms and Triggers of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are often characterized by lumps outside the anus. In addition, hemorrhoids are often characterized by a number of other symptoms of hemorrhoids, such as:

  • Itching or pain around the anus.
  • Bleeding from the anus after a bowel movement.
  • Mucus discharge after defecation.

Some triggers for hemorrhoids are constipation or diarrhea that lasts a long time, often lifting heavy weights, pregnancy, giving birth, and the habit of sitting for too long.

How to treat and prevent hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids must be treated immediately so that they do not swell and burst, or twist. Treatment can be by:

  • Implement a healthy diet.
  • Taking drugs or using hemorrhoid ointment.
  • Undergo hemorrhoid removal surgery. If hemorrhoids are caused by difficult bowel movements, the use of bowel-stimulating drugs may be necessary.

To prevent hemorrhoids, eat fiber-rich foods and drink lots of water. Avoid sitting too long, delaying bowel movements and straining excessively. If you want to try it, natural hemorrhoid remedies can also be an option.
