Super Tetra is an antibiotic that is useful for treating various diseases caused by bacterial infections, such as: brucellosis, urinary tract infections, severe acne, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, chronic bronchitis, and pneumonia. Super Tetra cannot be used to treat viral infections, such as the flu.

  • Do not use this medication if you have a history of allergies to Super Tetra or to other tetracycline drugs, such as doxycline.
  • Do not undergo vaccinations containing live bacteria, such as typhoid vaccine, while using Super Tetra, unless advised by your doctor.
  • Do not sunbathe and limit activities that expose you to direct sunlight while using Super Tetra, as this medication can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
  • Do not drink alcohol, drive a motor vehicle, or operate heavy machinery while using Super Tetra, as this medication can cause dizziness.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, lupus, myasthenia gravis, difficulty swallowing (dysphagia), hiatal hernia, or acid reflux disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking Super Tetra when you have surgery, including dental surgery.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking any medications, vitamins, supplements, or herbal products.
  • See your doctor immediately if you have an allergic reaction or overdose after using this medicine.

Dosage and Rules for Use Super Tetra

The dose of Super Tetra used for various infectious diseases for adults is 1 capsule 3-4 times a day. The dose prescribed by the doctor may change, depending on the patient's age, health condition, medications used, and the disease.

Do not reduce the dose or stop using Super Tetra even though the complaints have subsided because it can cause infectious diseases to not heal completely.

How to Use Super Tetra Correctly

Be sure to follow the doctor's instructions when taking Super Tetra. Read the instructions for use on the packaging before using the drug. Do not change the dose, time of use, or stop using Super Tetra without consulting your doctor first.

Super Tetra is best taken on an empty stomach. Therefore, take Super Tetra before breakfast or 1-2 hours after eating. Swallow Super Tetra with the help of a glass of water.

Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking this medicine. If your stomach feels uncomfortable after taking Super Tetra, you can take it with food.

Take Super Tetra 2-3 hours before or after consuming products containing aluminum, calcium, iron, zinc, bismuth subsalicylate, magnesium, antacids, sucralfate, or dairy products.

Store Super Tetra in its packaging, in a closed place at room temperature and away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. Keep Super Tetra out of reach of children.

Super Tetra Interactions with Other Drugs and Ingredients

When used with other medicines, Super Tetra can cause interactions, such as:

  • Increased pressure within the head cavity (intracranial pressure), when used with systemic retinoids, such as isotretinoin
  • Increased risk of kidney damage if used with diuretics
  • Increased levels of lithium in the blood
  • Decreased absorption of Super Tetra levels when used with antacids
  • Decreased blood levels of tetracycline when used with iron, calcium, rifampicin, or anticonvulsant drugs

In addition, consuming dairy products, such as milk, cheese, and ice cream can also interfere with the absorption of tetracycline.

Super Tetra Side Effects and Dangers

The tetracycline content in Super Tetra can cause the following side effects:

  • Skin is more sensitive to sun exposure
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Itchy rectum or vagina
  • Sore throat
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Stomach ache
  • Tongue looks black

Immediately consult a doctor if these side effects do not improve or get worse. You also need to immediately see a doctor if you experience an allergic drug reaction or serious side effects, namely:

  • Nail color change
  • Visual disturbances, such as blurred vision or loss of the ability to see
  • Hearing loss, such as ringing in the ears (tinnitus) or not being able to hear
  • Disorders of the kidneys characterized by a decrease in the amount of urine
  • Gastrointestinal disturbances, such as persistent diarrhea, bloody and mucus diarrhea, or stomach cramps
  • Changes in the color of the eyes or skin to yellowish
