Mixagrip - Benefits, dosage and side effects

In each tablet, Mixagrip Flu contains the active ingredients of 500 mg paracetamol, 10 mg phenylephrine HCl, and 2 mg chlorpheniramine maleate. Meanwhile, Mixagrip Flu & Cough contains 500 mg paracetamol, 10 mg phenylephrine HCl, and 10 mg dextromethorphan HBr in each tablet.

Mixagrip contains paracetamol, phenylephrine HCl, dextromethorphan HBr, and chlorpheniramine maleate to relieve flu symptoms, such as fever, headache, sneezing, and nasal congestion.

Precautions Before Taking Mixagrip:

  • Do not take Mixagrip if you are taking MAOI antidepressants and have a history of allergies to any of the ingredients in this medicine.
  • Be careful taking Mixagrip if you are elderly, obese, or at high risk of having a stroke.
  • Before using Mixagrip, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, seizures, impaired liver and kidney function, enlarged prostate, glaucoma, or hyperthyroidism.
  • Mixagrip may cause drowsiness. Do not drive a vehicle or operate heavy machinery after taking Mixagrip.
  • Mixagrip can affect the results of laboratory tests. Before undergoing certain laboratory tests, tell your doctor if you are taking Mixagrip.
  • Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages while taking Mixagrip, because it can increase the risk of liver damage.
  • Immediately see a doctor if flu symptoms do not improve or get worse even after taking Mixagrip for 3 days.
  • Call your doctor right away if you experience an allergic reaction to the drug or an overdose after taking Mixagrip.

Dosage and Instructions for Use Mixagrip

The following are the dosages of Mixagrip Flu and Mixagrip Flu & Cough to relieve flu symptoms in adults and children:

  • Adults: 1 tablet, 3-4 times a day.
  • Children 6-12 years: tablet, 3-4 times daily, or as directed by a doctor.

Mixagrip Interactions with Other Drugs

The use of Mixagrip along with other drugs can cause a number of drug interaction effects. Those interactions include:

  • Increased risk of paracetamol overdose if Mixagrip is taken with other medicines that also contain paracetamol. Even so, this rarely happens because the safe dose of paracetamol is quite high.
  • Increased risk of developing hypertensive emergencies, if Mixagrip is taken less than 2 weeks after taking MAOI-type antidepressants.

How to Consume Mixagrip Correctly

Make sure you have read the instructions on the package before taking Mixagrip.

This medication can be taken with food, or as directed by your doctor.

If you forget to take this medicine, it is advisable to do it as soon as you remember, if the break with the next consumption schedule is not too close. If it is close, ignore it and do not double the dose.

Do not increase the dose without consulting your doctor first.

Mixagrip Side Effects and Dangers

The content of paracetamol and other ingredients in Mixagrip can cause a number of side effects, namely:
